My 5 Go-To Lipsticks This Summer

I am a major goop junkie, but lip stick/gloss/stain is the one beauty item I have WAY too much of. Every time my boyfriend and I are at the mall or in Target he always laughs at the magnetic force between me and the makeup aisles. I just love experimenting with new brands and colors! However, I pretty much stay consistent with my favorite rich, matte liquid lipsticks or nourishing lip stains and balms.

Although I have no problem with rocking a vampy red lip color in the dead heat of June, I recently decided I wanted to play up on my berry and pink hues for the summer season and have found some really awesome shades and brands that I simply MUST share. Enjoy!

IT Cosmetics Vitality Lip Flush 4-in-1 Reviver Lipstick Stain $20

This lip stain is absolutely one of my favs. The colors are light and designed to give you a “naturally pretty flush” using oils and nutrients like shea butter, argan oil, jojoba oil, white and green tea extracts, aloe and many vitamins. As soon as I swipe this across my dry lips, they feel refreshed and look naturally better. This is a great lipstick for the no-makeup makeup look or as a primer for a liquid lipstick.

Anastasia Liquid Lipstick $20

As soon as you hear Anastasia you know the product is going to be bomb. The Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks have rich pigments with beautiful, velvety colors. However, because it’s a matte, it can be a little drying so I always exfoliate and prime my lips with a balm. My favorite aspect of this lipstick is that it lasts FOREVER. You actually need makeup remover to get it off which is good if you plan on keeping it on for hours.

Tartiest Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint $20

I actually got this as a sample from Sephora through their Beauty Insider point system, and I’m so glad for that! The brand ain’t lyin’ when they say “quick dry”. The formula dries quickly without sucking your lips of moisture. In addition to this, they have really great nude shades.

*Apparently, your ~perfect~ nude should resemble your nipple color, so I thought this rosy nude pictured below would be a good fit for me (TMI?). Tarte has many other nipple-friendly colors for my ladies on the quest for their perfect nude.

Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm $14

I came across this brand in Target and impulsively bought the Tinted Brilliance Balm because of its cute packaging (you win, marketing department.) I was a little nervous buying a drugstore brand because I am very snobby about my lipsticks – but this exceeded my expectations. Much like the IT lipstick I mentioned before, it gives you a lot of nutrients with a soft tint. My favorite part about it is the minty tingle.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream $6

I. Love. This. Lip. Cream. And I love the price point even more. Being owned by MAC, NYX is known for its professional quality makeup at a lower price point. This formula does not last quite as long as Anastasia or Tarte, BUT the colors are just as rich. Plus, there are 34 shades to choose from ranging from soft pink to neon purple so you can have fun experimenting with color without breaking the bank.
